Summary- Secret Life of Walter Mitty

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty written by James Thurber is the story of a man who escapes into his dreams in order to fill up the boring routine of his everyday life. The story starts with Walter dreaming about being a pilot while on a trip into the city with his wife, Mrs. Mitty early in this dream Walter is awoken by her telling him that he is driving to fast. As it continues the story switches back and fourth between the city that Walter is in and the dreams he is imagining in his mind. As Walter drops off his wife he is given a series of tasks to complete in the city and for each one of these tasks has a dream to go along with it. One task is to simply park the car while doing this he escapes into his dreams of being a doctor while almost running down the parking attendant. Later when getting back to the hotel where Walter is meeting his wife he dreams about being a solider before being awoken by his wife again for being late to meet her. The last we see of Walter is him escaping back into a dream again to get away from the routine of his life. Walter Mitty is a story of escape and dreams for those who are looking for just a little bit more.

First female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic ocean.  When Sarah reached the summit, and became the first female porter, she reminded me of this historical figure.

I found it very interesting that DJ's Grandpa wanted his ashes scattered across the top of Mount. Kilimanjaro.  Different people have different reasons for wanting to be buried at specific locations.

"When they landed, the white man was covered with his own vomit, was even whiter than usual"
