Mental Illness Investigation

Mental Illness Investigation

You and your group will be responsible for researching a Mental Illness.  You will be creating 1. A Fact sheet on this mental illness for the rest of the class. 2 A mask that shows how the mental illness is perceived and how you see the world if you have this mental illness. 3 A personal reflection based on the word you have chosen and 4. a simulation event for at least two other classmates to try.  You will be presenting this mental illness, mask and activity to the class.

We will be working on this project in stages.

Part one: Fact Sheet.

Answer the following questions about your mental illness.

These should be fairly short answers think about writing a brochure only the most important information.

1.   Learn what that illness is. Name.
2.   Signs and symptoms.
3.   How it develops/where it can come from.
4. Can this illness lead to substance abuse? (drugs/alcohol)

5.    Help that is there for those in need. Who can they Call/ Contact? What do these locations do for them?

For this fact sheet you need to use four sources two can be the ones I gave you. Two have to be ones that you find on your own.

Use Google research to post the links to your research.

Fact Sheet Success Criteria:

  • Each question is answered with sufficient detail. (2-3 sentances)
  • Information is easy to read and understand (does not make me look at this and go "this is to much for me to read").
  • Laid out in an easy manner.
  • It is clear what illness is being talked about.
  • Clear four sources used for research.
  • In your own words
  • Involved in your group work
